Clean Hands & A Pure Heart
There is a prayer I've prayed over my life for decades: Psalm 24:4 "He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully." My prayer is that I would have “clean hands and a pure heart” in all that I do and say. And while I fail at times, my greatest desire is to be able to stand before God with a pure heart. Here is a prayer that I pray will help all of us as we seek God for clean hands and a pure heart.
"Father,
I thank you for this day. I thank you for the price you paid for me on the cross
and what you have sacrificed so that I might live in eternity with you!
I ask today for a heart that isn’t filled with bitterness, resentment, or brokenness.
A heart that is full of grace, forgiveness, and love for others.
A heart that is attentive to hear Your voice whenever You need to speak to me.
A heart that keeps no record of wrongs towards others.
A heart that refuses to carry offense because of wrongs that were done to me.
A heart that looks more like Your heart.
Father, may my hands be clean and my heart be pure before You.
Amen.”
